BOWDEN DRAW, Daggett County — Investigators in Daggett County Sunday searched for a possible missing aircraft near Bowden Draw after intercepting a report over a handheld radio, but stopped the search around 8 p.m.
"After searching for the day with ground and air crews, it was determined that all avenues were currently exhausted. The sheriff's office has not received any missing airplane or persons reports and at this time we have decided to stop all searches until further information is available," the Daggett County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook Sunday evening.
Earlier, the office said in a post that it had no confirmation of occupants or injuries.
A Daggett County search and rescue crew conducted the search with help from the Uintah County Sheriff's Office and the Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter. Daggett County Sheriff, Erik Bailey, thanked the agencies for their help.
The Daggett County Sheriff's Office posted at 9:55 p.m. Saturday it had received a report of a possible airplane crash. The initial report was intercepted on a handheld radio in Vernal and was later confirmed by a commercial airline that was flying over the area.
