STANSBURY PARK — The body of a middle-aged man discovered along I-80 in Tooele County on Wednesday has turned into a homicide investigation.
"Initial indications from the investigation show that the cause of death was likely a result of multiple gunshot wounds," the Utah Highway Patrol announced in a statement Friday.
The body was discovered about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday by a passing motorist, several feet off the road in sagebrush on the west side of the freeway about 2 miles from the Grantsville turnoff.
Investigators say they are still working to positively identify the man and notify his next of kin.
