SALT LAKE CITY — Check back for the latest scores from all the Week 9 high school football games across the state.

This week, with the games fairly evenly split between Thursday and Friday, KSL.com is doing two games of the week. Check them out below:

KSL.com Game of the Week (Thursday): Stansbury at Payson

Why did we choose this game?

In Region 7, it's been all No. 6 Stansbury this year as the Stallions have bucked opponents en route to an undefeated 8-0 record. And while they've had a relatively easy time getting past teams — Stansbury averages 51.9 points per game and only gives up 13 points — the Payson Lions serve as a true test to limiting Stansbury from a region title.

With a win, the Stallions clinch the Region 7 title, but a loss at least delays it. Payson hasn't had the same offensive output as Stansbury this season — averages 36.3 points per game — but has done well enough at limiting opponents to only 18.3 points per game.

We expect Stansbury to score more than that, but anything can happen under the bright lights in high school football.

KSL.com Game of the Week (Friday): Crimson Cliffs at Dixie

Why did we choose this game?

Our KSL.com team isn't able to get down to Southern Utah much for high school football, but we made an exception this week as Crimson Cliffs (7-1, 4-0) travels to Dixie (4-3, 2-2) for a Region 10 showdown.

The Mustangs, which check in at No. 16 this week, are the clear favorite in the game and average 34 points in region play, which is slightly lower than what the Flyers allow on defense at 37.3 points.

Dixie has struggled to contain opponents on defense, but have also played difficult games against Snow Canyon (L - 56-12), Desert Hills (L - 56-21) and Springville (L - 41-14). They do, however, have a win (17-13) over a Riverton team currently ranked No. 20. Can the Flyers upset the Mustangs and create a little chaos in Region 10?
