OGDEN — Police are asking for help identifying a man suspected of stealing a handmade saddle worth over $2,000 from a sporting goods and surplus store.

The theft happened at the Smith & Edwards store, 3936 N. 2000 West, in Ogden. Stills from security footage show a man with a white beard, wearing a purple T-shirt, carrying the DL Moe saddle out of the store on July 26, according to a post on the Weber County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

Witnesses told police that the suspect left in a gold-colored truck with a chrome push bar. The truck's make and model are unknown.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 801-778-6631 and reference case 22WC28011.
