SALT LAKE CITY — Police announced that a missing girl had been found on Monday minutes after Salt Lake police issued an Amber Alert seeking help finding her.

Police were searching for an 11-year-old girl who they said was taken by her mother, who does not have custody. They said she was in danger but did not elaborate.

The abduction occurred at 456 N. 1100 West at 11:16 a.m., according to Salt Lake police.

Within several minutes of issuing the Amber Alert, Salt Lake police announced that the girl had been found in Tooele County and is "safe with law enforcement."
