DRAPER — A motorcyclist who was critically injured late Thursday after being hit by an SUV in Draper has died, police said Sunday.

Russell Garcia, 47, died at Intermountain Medical Center from injuries sustained in the crash.

About 11:36 p.m. Thursday, a westbound SUV made a left-hand turn into the path of the northbound motorcycle at 11950 S. State, and the motorcycle hit the SUV, Draper police said in a statement.

When crews arrived, they found Garcia in "very critical" condition, and the 27-year-old woman who was driving the SUV with minor injuries, police said.

Officers said they believe alcohol may be involved but clarified Sunday that the driver of the SUV has fully cooperated in the investigation and "gave no indications of impairment by alcohol or other substances."

The investigation is ongoing.

Correction: A previous version said the crash occurred early Friday. It was Thursday night.
