SCIPIO, Millard County — Two Davis County semi drivers accused of getting into a road rage confrontation with each other now face criminal charges.
On Dec. 17, two semitruck drivers on I-15 in Millard County kept cutting each other off, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden. One driver claimed he then attempted to pass the other semi on the left shoulder and was run off the road into the median. The other driver also claimed he too was run off the road, Roden said.
A trooper was dispatched to a gas station in Scipio where both drivers had stopped. He arrived to find one driver pounding on the cab of the other driver's rig while that driver sat inside, according to Roden. Both trucks suffered damage from coming into contact with each other on the freeway, he said.
Each man was charged Wednesday in 4th District Court. A 42-year-old man from Sunset was charged with aggravated assault, a third-degree felony, while the other driver, a 54-year-old man from Clearfield, was charged with reckless endangerment, a class A misdemeanor.
