WEST VALLEY CITY — A Herriman man was killed in a wrong-way, head-on collision on the Bangerter Highway Friday morning.

Riley Larsen, 19, was driving a car north on Bangerter just before 7 a.m. when he crossed into the southbound lanes near 2350 South for an unknown reason and collided head-on with a box truck, according to West Valley police. Larsen was killed instantly.

The driver of the box truck was not hurt, police said. What caused the car to cross into oncoming traffic was not immediately known.

The southbound lanes of Bangerter Highway were closed at the Frontage Road, near 2400 South, for several hours.
