SALT LAKE CITY — Police are searching for the gunman who fatally shot a man outside a gas station in Salt Lake City early Friday morning.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting at 310 S. 900 East about 1 a.m., according to a news release from the Salt Lake City Police Department. People on scene performed CPR on the shooting victim until police arrived and took over the efforts four minutes later. Still, the man died from at least one gunshot wound, police said.
They did not release any information about him, including his name.
Witnesses said the gunman fled immediately after the shooting. Police searched the neighborhood but have not found him.
Investigators believe there is not an ongoing threat to the public.
"The shooting appears to stem from some sort of isolated altercation between the victim and suspect," police said.
They released four pictures of the suspected gunman and asked anyone with information to call 801-799-3000 and reference case number 21-226389.
