WEST VALLEY CITY — A homicide investigation is underway in West Valley City after a man was found shot to death Monday.

About 7:10 a.m., neighbors reported hearing two gunshots in the area of 3800 South and 4200 West. Emergency crews arrived to find a man lying on the ground in front of a house, said West Valley police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's name was not immediately released. Vainuku said detectives were trying to determine Monday if the man had any connection to the house that his body was found in front of.

As of Monday morning, no arrests had been made and there was no suspect information. Vainuku said the investigation was still in its early stages.

Anyone with information on the fatal shooting is asked to call police at 801-840-4000.
