WEST JORDAN — A man was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition on Thursday after being pinned inside some machinery at a West Jordan bakery, police said.

West Jordan police and paramedics responded to reports that a man was pinned at the Papa Pita Bakery, 6208 Dannon Way, Thursday afternoon. Emergency responders were able to extricate the man from the machinery, according to West Jordan police Lt. Morgan Andrus.

Details on the man's injuries were not made available.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been contacted to investigate the incident, added Andrus.

Andrus advised the public to call 911 immediately and do what is possible to stabilize the person when an industrial accident occurs.
