THE MRI MACHINE — About a year ago, I was at home during quarantine and really wanted some nachos. While I love some nachos with shredded cheese in the oven, there are times the body craves that nacho cheese that isn't really cheese and oozes out the metallic spout of a nacho cheese machine at the gas station or the snack shack at the Little League baseball game.
As I was thinking about this craving, I went to Amazon — today's equivalent of a late-night infomercial — and I found a nacho cheese machine. I bought it. It was in the wee hours of the morning and I was hungry, so my mind wasn't in the right place.
Regardless, the machine showed up and I've never looked back. I now know that the nacho cheese machine was something I didn't know I needed in my life.
I have now found something else I didn't know I needed in my life: It's a real-time video of a beatboxer performing in an MRI machine.
Beatboxer Timo Schnepf posted this video of himself performing in the machine. It's crazy to see what's going on inside his mouth as he beatboxes. His tongue looks like its own self-aware organism dancing to the beat.
If you've ever seen the Robin Williams film "Flubber," it looks a lot like that.
Regardless, this video is awesome and even though it's 2 years old, it only has a few hundred page views. I feel like that should change — just like the fact that almost nobody owns a nacho cheese machine should change.
