KANAB, Kane County — A 3-year-old boy died Sunday after the 4x4 vehicle he was in rolled over on a trail near Kanab, authorities say.

Thomas Clarkson, of Kanab, died in the crash, according to a Tuesday news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office.

Thomas and some family members were in the vehicle climbing up a steep trail in Hog Canyon, just north of Kanab, the release says. The vehicle rolled over and Thomas was killed.

Thomas's parents and four siblings were also in the vehicle but suffered only minor injuries, according to the release. They were all treated at the scene and released.
