SOUTH SALT LAKE — The South Salt Lake Police Department released photos and video footage Saturday of a shooting that occurred at a gas station on Friday morning, asking for the public's help to track the vehicle and subjects involved.
The shooting happened about 6:30 a.m. Friday at a Maverik station at 3369 S. West Temple, officials said. Police say a 28-year-old male was shot in the face; he is in stable condition and receiving treatment at an area hospital, they said.
The vehicle involved is a gray or silver 2004 Dodge Durango with Utah license plate F141EJ. "The vehicle has a missing rear passenger side hub cap and a large dent on the front passenger side door," police said.
Police advise that the subjects involved are considered "armed and dangerous" and should not be approached. They ask Utahns to call 911 if they are spotted.
In the video released, two people can be seen exiting the Durango from its driver and rear passenger doors. They then jump back into the vehicle and a man is seen leaving the Durango from its front passenger seat.
The passenger walks away from the car and seems to hide behind a gas pump until the Durango drives away quickly, jerking the passenger door closed. Once the vehicle drives away, the man walks out from behind the pump and toward the gas station, trying to wave down a car that is parking in front of the store. He appears injured and kneels down on his hands and knees in the parking lot.
