Corner Canyon cruises to 53-32 victory over American Fork to claim Region 4 title

The undefeated Corner Canyon Chargers were looking to complete a perfect regular season Wednesday night as they hosted the American Fork Cavemen in a high-profile 6A matchup.

Why did we choose American Fork at Corner Canyon?

Undefeated Corner Canyon (9-0) is still the team to beat in the state as the No. 1 team in this week's KSL.com Top 20+1 rankings. And with one game left in the regular season, a Region 4 title is on the line with a win over No. 4 American Fork (7-2). Quarterback Jaxson Dart threw four touchdown passes in a come-from-behind win last week, and will be the x-factor in the Chargers' ability to go for a perfect season.

The Cavemen are coming off a 3-point loss to Lone Peak in a high-scoring affair, and are hungry for a win over Corner Canyon. American Fork may have two losses on the season but quarterback Maddux Madsen can put up points fast. Against a top-tier defense in Lone Peak, Madsen threw five touchdown passes to top out 3,000 passing yards for the season.

Bonus game: Roy @ Weber

Due to another week of split schedules, we're adding a bonus game — and it's an early afternoon game, with Roy's 1 p.m. MT kickoff at Weber. The defacto Region 1 title game features Royals standout back Izzy Gordon, who has paced the No. 8-ranked Royals with 7.22 yards per carry clip for 1,127 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Warriors (6-1) offer a more balanced offense, overseen by quarterback Jake Lindsay — a 56% passer for 1,369 yards and 15 touchdowns.
