SALT LAKE CITY — Several wildfires continued to burn across Utah on Friday, including the Ether Hollow Fire in Mapleton that forced evacuations earlier this week.
The evacuations for the Hobble Creek area were lifted Tuesday but the area remained in a pre-evacuation state on Friday — meaning residents need to stay prepared to leave again at a moments notice.
As of Friday, the 869-acre blaze had been 49% contained. The fire started Monday and was caused by target shooting.
