SALT LAKE CITY — The National Weather Service is warning of possible severe weather in northern Utah through at least noon, continuing another day of storms in Utah.

Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have been issued throughout the morning in Salt Lake, Tooele, Davis, Weber, Cache counties and beyond. Strong winds and hail have accompanied some storms.

Large portions of southern Utah, including most or all of San Juan, Grand and Kane counties, are under a Red Flag Warning on Sunday, indicating greater potential for wildfires. High winds continue to blow through the area, and the National Weather Service warned of gusts up to 50 mph.

"Critical fire weather conditions are expected," it said.

There are already several wildfires burning in northern Utah, with winds and rain alternately challenging and assisting firefighters working to contain the fires.

The KSL Weather Center anticipates a high chance of rain and thunderstorms across the Wasatch Front for the remainder of the day.
