SALT LAKE CITY — The best high school in the state is closer to being named as we move into the Elite 8 round of the bracket challenge.

The Sweet 16 round was another close one, with no school garnering more than 56 percent of the vote. No. 14 Dixie claimed the honor of winning its matchup with the highest percentage at 56 percent, though Logan, Payson and Pleasant Grove each won theirs with 55 percent of the vote.

The closest matchup was Springville-American Fork, where the Red Devils managed to oust the last remaining No. 1 seed by only 215 votes to claim 51 percent of the vote.

As we enter the Elite 8 round, I remind you that this is just for fun. We want to see who you think is the best high school in the top three classifications — 6A, 5A and 4A — in the state. Maybe you're voting on a school because their cheerleaders have the best combination of back handsprings and hip-hop routines. Or maybe you think the school is just pretty neat all around.

Whatever your reason for voting, enjoy it and do what you can to get your favorite(s) to win. Voting will close at midnight.
