SALT LAKE CITY — Authorities released the name of a man Wednesday who died from injuries suffered from crashing his personal electric scooter into a parked car Saturday.

Salt Lake City police said Carl Lemmon, 62, of Salt Lake City, died at University of Utah Hospital from injuries suffered in the crash. Hospital officials said Lemmon died Sunday morning.

Lemmon was riding a scooter when he crashed into a parked car near 400 South and 300 West about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Salt Lake Police Lt. Jenn Diederich. A bystander performed CPR at the scene before Lemmon was taken to University of Utah Hospital in critical condition with head trauma, Diederich said.

Police are unsure how fast Lemmon was traveling on the scooter when he crashed. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
