SALT LAKE CITY — About 20 cars were damaged after a fire started in the Hertz car rental lot early Sunday morning, according to airport officials.
The fire started just after midnight, north of the airport economy parking lot, airport officials said on Twitter. There were no injuries, but the damage from the fire is estimated at $500,000, officials said.
Salt Lake City Fire Department is investigating the fire. Fire department officials said they were considering the circumstances surrounding the blaze to be suspicious.
On Saturday, about 10 cars caught fire in a blaze in a wrecking lot in South Salt Lake. Officials have not said whether they think two car fires were related.
