SALT LAKE CITY — With rain and some snow in the forecast Monday, it’s easy to feel a little down.

Utah weather always toys with our emotions in the spring, but today’s chilly temperatures feel especially hurtful, given that it was in the 80s a mere two days ago.

If you are in need of a boost, we have got you covered.

Going above and beyond the call of duty

Tyson S.

“I'd like to report the details of a great rescue effort by Lehi Police Department to save 11 ducklings from a storm drain at the bottom of the southbound exit of I-15 at Thanksgiving Point. While exiting I-15, I noticed an animal on the road that had been struck and killed. As I neared the bottom of the exit, I saw two ducklings dodging traffic and realized the dead animal I had seen was a duck, presumably the mother of the ducklings.

“I pulled over to see if I could contain them with an old blanket I had in my truck, but they both jumped down the storm drain before I could get close enough. That's when I looked down and realized there were a lot more than just two. Animal Control was closed so the Lehi Police Department responded and helped rescue them. We eventually got all 11 ducklings. Heartwarming to see and it paints our officers in the right light.”
