PROVO — OneRepublic will headline this year’s Stadium of Fire concert at LaVell Edwards Stadium on July 4, event officials announced Wednesday.
The band, which formed in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2002 has released four albums; multiple have been certified platinum. OneRepublic's most-recognized song, “Apologize,” was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2009.
“We get a lot of suggestions each year on who the next Stadium of Fire headliner should be and OneRepublic is probably the name we hear the most. We are beyond excited to finally welcome them to Provo on July 4th,” said Paul Warner, Executive Director of America’s Freedom Festival, in a statement.
The Stadium of Fire, an annual event held for Independence Day, is heading into its 38th year as a part of America’s Freedom Festival.
Tickets for the event will go on sale Friday beginning at 9 a.m. They will be available at stadiumoffire.com or the BYU Marriott Center ticket office. Those on the Freedom Festival's email list will have the option to purchase tickets Thursday.
Officials for the event said the it traditionally brings in more than 40,000 people each year and will be televised on the American Forces Network.
