ST. GEORGE — A hiker found the body of a woman in a stream Thursday afternoon.
The hiker was on the Halfway Wash Trail, near 1700 W. Sunset Blvd. in St. George, when they discovered the body at about 1 p.m., according to St. George police Sgt. Sam Despain.
"This body was found in the water," he said. "Initially from first observations it doesn't necessarily look like foul play or anything too suspicious, but at this point we don't know exactly the cause of death or what happened."
Investigators said they believe the woman likely died sometime within the past few days and are working to determine exactly what happened. Detectives are also working to identify the woman.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
