FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Police have released surveillance video showing a thief lowering himself down from the ceiling of a central California store and making off with an estimated $40,000 in jewels.
Investigators say the thief broke in through the roof and rappelled down into Marlene's Jewelry in Fresno around 4 a.m. Tuesday.
The man, wearing dark clothes and a dark-colored ski mask, loaded merchandise into a plastic trash bag and then climbed back up into the ceiling and fled.
The Fresno Bee reported Thursday (http://bit.ly/1v4CnDM ) that detectives are asking anyone with information to call police.
