NEW YORK CITY — Something strange will be coming to your neighborhood Oct. 21 when the “Ghostbusters” theme song is released on a marshmallow-scented vinyl record, marking the 30th anniversary of the cult comedy film.

Announced on the heels of a re-release and reboot of the original film, Ray Parker Jr.’s “Ghostbusters” will be released on a 12-inch white vinyl with a scent to honor one of the film’s villains, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, according to Rolling Stone.

The limited edition Ghostbusters: Stay Puft Edition Super Deluxe vinyl will also feature Run-D.M.C.’s “Ghostbusters” rap from the movie’s sequel, a photo collage of Stay Puft and the Ghostbusters meeting for the first time, and Stay Puft 3D lenticular images from the film.

All album features will be housed inside the inner jacket of the gatefold, which replicates the feeling and texture of a marshmallow, Rolling Stone reported.

Three thousand copies will be made, each with a numbered certificate of authenticity and a 6-inch Stay Puft figurine, according to Death and Taxes. Each record will cost $58.98.

The pre-order for the album is currently back ordered, Death and Taxes reported.
