(KSL News) The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office says a man may be preying on teenage boys in the Riverton area.

Paul Jaroscak/SL County Sheriff's Office: "Some of the public places like grocery store, library, park. [He's been] befriending them, playing video games with them. What follows a short friendship is illegal sexual activity."

Investigators can't release information about what he looks like because they don't want to influence witnesses. But they say he targets boys ages 13 to 17. They know about one victim. They believe there are more and hope they will come forward.

In the meantime, authorities are looking for anyone who may have seen the man lurking around public places.

Paul Jaroscak/SL County Sheriff's Office: "There's been a lot of emphasis lately on the internet. But we still have those situations where people will try to randomly make contact in public places."

Paul Jaroscak/SL County Sheriff's Office: "We don't want to unnecessarily alarm people, but let kids know these dangers are out there."

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 801-743-7000.
