Paul Nelson ReportingDramatic dash camera tape shows a UHP trooper as he stops a suspect from smashing into a home. The woman who lives there is calling the trooper a hero.
Trooper Dustin Allison pits the car on the corner of 800 West and 1200 South, bringing his chase to an end, right on Christy Davis' lawn.
Christy Davis: "It was right there, in the corner of my front yard. It actually picked up the fence."
Davis says it's amazing only the fence was damaged. She says the suspect's car went through a small gap between a van and a tree. Then it traveled 15 feet on the sidewalk, missing another tree, and hit the corner of the fence.
Now, she's praising Trooper Allison for pitting the runaway car while causing little damage to personal property.
Christy Davis: "I think that officer deserves some kudos."
