SALT LAKE CITY — Harrison Ford is back! But this is no fifth installment in the franchise, for better or for worse. "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark," rated PG, will be making its IMAX debut this weekend. Taking viewers on a nostalgic trip back in time to 1981, theatergoers who saw it the first time can see it again, bigger and better than ever. For those who had yet to be born in 1981, this marks the opportunity to relive what ultimately represented a milestone in cinematic history.

The first four predictions made last week were accurate. In first was "The Possession," followed by "Lawless" in second. "The Expendables 2" landed in third place, down from its first-place perch the two weekends prior. "The Bourne Legacy" dropped two places likewise into fourth. "ParaNorman" came in fifth, beating "2016 Obama's America" which, despite added attention and a wider release, failed to make the Top 5.

September starts out with a fizzle as only two new films debut in wide release. The first is "The Words," a PG-13 romantic comedy. Counterbalancing this new romance is a PG-13 action thriller "The Cold Light of Day," starring Bruce Willis, Sigourney Weaver and Henry Cavill.

The predictions for the weekend of Sept. 7 are:

1. "The Words"

The Words
The Words

"The Words" features the story of a writer who builds his legacy on the work of another writer. When the charade that he has constructed on the back of plagiarism begins to come to light, the title character, played by Bradley Cooper, is confronted by friends, family and acquaintances. Ultimately forced to accept the consequences of his actions, this PG-13 film explores the complexities of deceit.

2. "The Possession"

The Possession

A PG-13 horror film, "The Possession" fairly easily took first place last weekend. A young girl, Em, discovers a box with Hebrew writing. Opening it up in Pandora's Box fashion, a mysterious and supernatural force is unleashed. Initially appraised as the side-effects of a tumultuous divorce, Em's support network eventually comes to realize that something much more powerful is at work. Forced to track down and stop the mysterious source of this terror, "The Possession" presents a unique story which is in many ways analogous to the very real effects of divorce on impressionable children.

3. "Lawless"

It is back to the Prohibition days as "Lawless" takes to the screen. An R-rated gangster film staring Shia LaBeouf, "Lawless" deals with the ramifications of a family business gone sour. Discovered by the authorities who want a piece of the profit, "Lawless" presents a unique dramatic rendition of a time in history far removed from the lifestyle Americans presently enjoy.

4. "The Expendables 2"

Starring Jason Statham, Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Sylvester Stallone, Chuck Norris, Randy Couture, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Terry Crews and Bruce Willis, little more need be said. The second Willis film in theaters this weekend, "Expendables 2" has proven quite popular as a sequel to the 2010 original. The film revolves around a mercenary group, aptly named The Expendables, who hunt down a rival mercenary responsible for killing one of their members. In addition, the rival mercenary is in possession of a weapon that The Expendables will do anything in their power to seize before it unleashes mass chaos on the world.

5. "The Cold Light of Day"

"The Cold Light of Day" is slated for a soft release to a moderate number of theaters. Largely unadvertised, audience turnout expectations are fairly low. This action thriller features a family vacationing in Spain. When members of the family are kidnapped, it is up to Henry Cavill to hunt them down, working against unexplainable resistance while discovering some unpleasant family skeletons hidden in the closet.
