SPANISH FORK, Utah (AP) -- Richard Davis, the father of missing Spanish Fork teenager Kiplyn Davis, says he will run for a spot on the Spanish Fork City Council.

Davis says he wants to pay the community back for all the years of support his family has received after their daughter went missing in 1995 when she was 15.

Police believe Kiplyn was taken up a nearby canyon where she was raped and murdered. Her body has never been found.

Murder charges have been filed against one of the suspects in the case and several others have federal trials or sentencings pending for their role in allegedly covering up the crime.
