SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah Department of Transportation is altering its scheduled weeknight closures on U.S. 189 to accommodate the Sundance Film Festival.
The regular 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. closure of the highway for excavation work near Deer Creek Dam will continue through Wednesday, and motorists will need to use I-15 and I-80.
Beginning Thursday night, U.S. 189 will be restricted to one lane in the area of Deer Creek Dam between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Flaggers will be posted to direct motorists through the work zone. Drivers should expect travel delays up to 10 minutes. At 1 a.m., crews will close the road at until 6 a.m.
That schedule will continue on weeknights through Jan. 27. No closures are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday nights.
