Shooting investigation shut down northbound lanes of I-15 Thursday night.

Sgt. Gary Koehn with the Bountiful Police Department says a trooper had pulled off into a construction zone near Pages Lane to help with traffic control around 9:30 p.m.

"He then heard a couple of pops. He got out and checked his vehicle and found there was a bullet hole in his vehicle," he says.

The bullet hit the car just above the right rear tire.

Police searched the area and found two shell casings. They do not have any information on a possible suspect. They're asking anyone who may have seen the shooting to call them.

The northbound lanes of I-15 were shut down during the investigation, and lane restrictions continued for several hours afterward.
