LOGAN — If you thought the Utah State football team had a lot of turnover this year, enter Utah State's men's basketball team.

Of the 16 players on the Aggies' roster, only three are not in their first season as an Aggies player: Isaac Johnson, Mason Falslev, and Landon Brenchley. Of the three, Brenchley is the only player that has ever appeared in a game for the Aggies since Johnson and Falslev took their redshirt seasons last year.

The coaching staff also saw complete turnover.

From head coach Danny Sprinkle, who coached at Montana State last year, all the way down to graduate assistant Xavier Bishop, every single coach is brand new this season to the Aggies.

Perhaps it is that uncertainty and immense turnover that led voters to lack confidence in the Aggies this season, slating them at ninth of just 11 teams in the Mountain West. Utah State was ranked ahead of just Air Force and Wyoming.

San Diego State, following their deep run in the NCAA Tournament last season, was the clear favorite. The Aztecs received 25 of 31 first-place votes. The other teams receiving first-place votes were Boise State (4) and New Mexico and Nevada, each with one.

No Aggies players were selected for the preseason All-Mountain West team or any preseason conference awards.
