SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Prosecutors say they are not planning to charge a woman who was arrested in connection with the beating death of a West Jordan man.
Deputy Salt Lake County District Attorney Paul Parker says prosecutors have insufficient evidence to hold Makasini Lomu, 32.
Three people arrested in the slaying made their first court appearance in the case Monday. Each is charged with murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.
A fourth person appeared Tuesday in 3rd District Court on the same charges.
On Oct. 9, Jay Wolfinjer was taken from his West Jordan apartment and later found bound and gagged in a shed behind a West Valley City home. Police say he was alive, but died later at a hospital from blunt force trauma. Court papers indicate the killing likely was over a drug debt.
