New Fire in Fairfield

Officials reported the start of a new fire southwest of Fairfield.The Aviator 2 Fire is started Sunday afternoon and is currently estimated at 120 acres with 15% containment. No structures are threatened at this time.

Mountain Aire evacuations lifted; Parleys Fire now 90% contained

State and local fire officials reported through Utah Fire Info that the mandatory evacuations of Mountain Aire have been lifted Sunday at 8 p.m.Parleys Fire is currently 90% contained and will enter the control phase Monday morning.Little Dell Reservoir has also been reopened.— Jen Riess, KSL.com

6400 Fire estimated at 225 acres

The 6400 Fire is estimated at 225 acres and is 0% contained, officials said.One primary residence was destroyed. Another primary residence and a secondary residence were damaged, fire officials said."Firefighters are making progress towards containment," state and federal officials said via Utah Fire Info.— Jen Riess, KSL.com

New fire on the east side of Wellsville Mountains

A small fire has started in the Wellsville Mountain Wilderness.

Officials say the Wellsville Fire is approximately .25 of an acre. The fire is near the cone on the east side of the Wellsville Mountains, according to the Logan City Police Department.The Forest Service has one helicopter and fire personnel responding. 6400 Fire burns home near Fruitland

One "primary residence" and two outbuildings have been destroyed near Fruitland by the 6400 Fire, originally the Fruitland Church Fire, in Duchesne County.Twenty-four more residences are threatened by the blaze, officials said, which has grown quickly from 30 acres to about 200 acres.The fire's cause is currently unknown. The fire is closing highway US-40 in the area, officials said.

Fruitland Church Fire starts in Duchesne County

A new fire in Duchesne County is burning 30 acres and growing fast, fire officials said Sunday afternoon.The Fruitland Church Fire, burning near Fruitland south of US-40, has already damaged two structures and threatens more, officials said.

Richard Mountain Fire 'not expected to grow'

Officials battling the Richard Mountain Fire on the Wyoming-Utah border do not believe they'll need to engage the fire further, they said Sunday morning, as it is now 90% contained.The fire is burning about 5 miles north of Dutch John, Daggett County, and has scorched about 7,633 acres.Closures along Browns Park Road and the Green River have been lifted, and the closure along Clay Basin Road may be lifted this afternoon, officials said.The fire began on Aug. 2 and its cause remains under investigation. Officials are working to transition firefighting duties to a smaller, local team.— Graham Dudley, KSL.com

Parleys Fire evacuations could be lifted tonight

Fire officials said Sunday morning that evacuations related to Parleys Fire could be lifted Sunday evening — but only if conditions don't worsen through the Red Flag Warning in the area today.Managers plan to lift the evacuations in the Mt. Aire area about 8 p.m. Sunday, officials said.Parleys Fire is about 50% contained and burning 80 acres in Salt Lake County.

Upper Provo Fire is 78% contained

The Upper Provo Fire is now 480 acres and 78% contained after more than a week of firefighting activity, state and federal fire officials said Sunday morning.The fire is burning 22 miles east of Kamas and the most active spot is just west of Pyramid Lake, fire officials said. They are attacking the blaze their primarily through the air due to "extremely rugged" terrain in the area.
