HURRICANE — A UTV caught fire in the dunes Sunday morning, according to the Washington City Fire Department. In a Facebook post from the fire department, a call came in for mutual aid in the Sand Hollow sand dunes. Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle on fire, but were able to extinguish the flames, the post stated. "It’s important to regularly maintain your vehicle and know the signs of overheating or mechanical issues," the fire department said. "It’s also critical to haul fuel safely and securely, since leaking gas cans are a major fire hazard. Keeping a fire extinguisher on hand can make all the difference when seconds matter." No injuries have been reported.
