Salt Lake reaching out to small business

Next week Salt Lake City will roll out a full court press to prop up new and existing small businesses.

The city is taking the temperature of small business. Economic Development Director Bob Farrington said, "The majority of those feel they are going to be negatively impacted."

Farrington says a survey that will be released next week shows small business looks to City Hall for help. "Some people are looking for loans, other people, you know, wanted some marketing help," he said.

Farrington says there are 50 city or county small business programs, but many firms don't know where to look for help. That's why the city is about to hire a small business manager.
