LAYTON — A man died after being hit by a vehicle on Antelope Drive on Wednesday evening.

Lorenzo Richardson, 45, was walking south across the street at 1055 W. Antelope Drive and was hit by a car traveling east, said Layton Police Sgt. Paul Gardiner. Richardson was taken to the hospital but died there with blunt trauma injuries.

A GoFundMe* for Richardson's family states he was a father to seven kids. The accident left Richardson's wife "to fend for her and seven kids all by herself," according to the post, which says it is organized by his wife's family members.

Gardiner said the man was walking across the street and was not in a crosswalk when he was struck by the front of the car and the windshield.

Police were investigating whether drugs were involved in the incident, the sergeant said.
