Samantha Hayes ReportingAfter the long weather inversion it's actually a nice change to see and hear the snow plows on the streets. Crews have been out all evening pre-treating the roads to keep water and snow from freezing.
In Salt Lake City snow plow drivers says it helps to park in the driveway or at least on the same side of the street, especially on one way streets.
Crews will be clearing the roads throughout the night, until seven in the morning and that's the one thing they say would really help.
Neighborhoods like the Avenues where Glen Ballard is plowing tonight are especially challenging. Narrow roads and one way streets can be difficult to maneuver and the lack of parking means many people leave their cars on the streets. Glen Ballard has been operating a snow plow for a long time and says there are some misconceptions about the vehicle.
He says often other drivers try to pass and it can be difficult to spot them. Also, some cars follow too close and if that happens going up a steep hill, you better watch out!
Glen Ballard, Snow Plow driver: "I've been on fourth south between tenth east and eleventh east just a small hill but steep. Got up about half way and slid all the way back down."
Be very cautious driving tomorrow morning. It will be well below freezing and no matter how much coverage the roads get from city crews there will be slick spots.
