(KSL News) The Mormon Tabernacle Choir today paid special tribute to the late President Gordon B. Hinckley in its weekly broadcast of "Music and the Spoken Word."
The choir fittingly sang "My Redeemer Lives," a song written by President Hinckley, who was the choir's special adviser since 1971. During that time, the choir members say he grew to be more than just their prophet.
Lloyd Newell, of "Music and the Spoken Word", said, "We lovingly call him friend because of his extraordinary supervision of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and its broadcast for so many decades."
President Hinckley died a week ago at age 97. His funeral was Saturday.
