(KSL News) Six months ago a man was sentenced to prison for child abuse. This morning he was up for parole for the first time.
JenaV Adams/ Dominick's Mother: "We put it behind us as much as possible for six months. Now this coming up, it makes it feel like it's fresh, like it's just happened again."
Michael Barber was convicted of beating his girlfriend's then 2-year old son, Dominick. It's been two years since that happened, but Dominick still has scars and is blind in his right eye.
His mother, JenaV will speak at the hearing. She says a 15-year sentence won't make up for what happened, because Barber has never apologized to her son.
JenaV Adams: "Take responsibility for what you've done, for the livess that you've ruined because of what you've done."
Barber is in a maximum security cell at the prison because of behavioral problems. The parole board has 30 days to make a decision.
