(KSL News) The debate over in-state tuition for undocumented immigrants could be back on the House floor, but this time as part of a broader bill.

A House committee approved a bill that would prohibit undocumented immigrants from accessing any public benefits except those federally mandated, such as public education.

In order to get the benefits, the bill requires proof of lawful presence.

Similar bills have been rejected twice this session.
