SALT LAKE CITY — The Department of Health and Human Services is "actively reviewing" a request from Sen. Mike Lee to reclassify a set of specialized cells located within the pancreas to be used for the treatment of Type 1 diabetes.

There is cutting edge research being done right here in Utah using islet therapies that could lead to a cure to Type 1 diabetes itself."
