Family escapes house fire in Salt Lake

(KSL News) It was an emotional reunion as a family escaped their burning home overnight.

Fire crews originally thought an 11-year-old boy was still inside the burning home near 900 South and 1600 East in Salt Lake City.

But it turns out the boy was just looking for another important family member.

Capt. Karleen Montanez of the Salt Lake City Fire Department said, "He thought the dog was in the house, so he was very emotional. But when they opened the door, he [the dog] was just glad to be out of the house."
