SALT LAKE CITY — An anticipated snowstorm has delayed the start of schools in Dugway Monday morning.
The Tooele County School District said on its Facebook page that Dugway schools will have a 2-hour delay due to the effects of the wintery weather.
The school district emphasized that parents are invited to keep their children at home, if parents feel it is necessary.
In a statement, the district said, "Regardless of our decision, if you feel it is not safe to send or take your students to school during inclement weather, please keep them home. School officials will be lenient regarding tardiness and absences during winter weather."
Early Monday, snow appeared to have the greatest impact on roads north of Salt Lake City, the KSL Weather Center reported.
UDOT had asked drivers to stay off the roads early Monday so plow crews can clear the roads. While snow plow drivers do their work, "that's when you're really going to need to slow down," said John Gleason, a UDOT spokesman.
