Couple's dream of having a family comes true

After years of wishing for a child, a Duluth, Minn. couple's dream finally came true ... times eight.

Rob and Jaime Scott have been trying to have a child of their own for years. Jaime said, "It's been a difficult road trying to get pregnant. So about two years ago, we started the process of adoption."

They came across the siblings after spending hours searching through adoption Web sites. The Scotts admit they weren't necessarily looking for so many children at once but say they couldn't seem to get them out of their minds.

After much thought and deliberation, the couple decided to inquire about adopting all eight siblings.

Jaime first got the news that the adoption was going through and called her husband. Rob Scott said, "She calls me, and she goes ‘Daddy,' and I'm like ‘I think you called the wrong number dear. I think you're trying to get a hold of your dad, and she goes, ‘No, the adoption committee just called, ‘Daddy!' And I was like goose bumps … wow!"

The children range in age from four months to 14 years old. Six of the children are already in Duluth and the other two will arrive in three weeks.

Kathy Searle works with the Adoption Exchange's Utah office, a private company that contracts with eight states to help find adoptive families. She told the Duluth News Tribune that the family is the largest ever placed by the Adoption Exchange.
