PROVO, Utah (AP) -- Two cities have to decide whether to pay thousands of dollars to participate on the Utah Lake Commission.
The commission was created by the Legislature earlier this year to study Utah Lake issues and provided a common place to make lake-related decisions.
Since its formation, several cities that did not want to pay an annual membership fee were allowed to participate in discussions but not vote. To have voting powers, each has to pay a fee that's calculated on population, land size and how much shoreline it has along the lake.
Payson officials say they'd have to pay about $4,000 to participate. Eagle Mountain would have to pay about $10,000.
