Boy reports attempted abduction in Provo

(KSL News) There was an attempted abduction in the area of 2770 W. 1000 N. Provo this afternoon.

A 10-year-old boy was walking home from Lake View Elementary at about 3:10 today when he noticed a truck parked on the side of the road. As the boy walked by the truck, a man inside rolled the window down and told the boy that his mother was in the hospital and they needed to go see her right now.

Luckily, the boy did not recognize or believe the man. He ran the rest of the way home and told his mother what had occurred.

The boy's mother contacted the Provo Police Department. The surrounding area was searched for the suspect vehicle, but it wasn't located. It's described as a medium-sized, light blue pickup truck. The boy did not know the make or model of the truck, nor did he notice the license plate.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned male of medium build. He's 20 to 30 years old with short, black, curly hair and a black mustache. He wore an earring in his right ear. He was wearing a black T-shirt with white lettering on the back and blue jeans.
