OREM — Two men were struck and injured late Friday while changing a tire on I-15 in Orem.
A car stopped near the University Parkway on-ramp just before midnight, according to trooper Tara Wahlberg of the Utah Highway Patrol. Two bystanders helped the man as his car sat half on the shoulder and half in the lane.
The driver and one other man were on the rear driver side; a third man held a flashlight to direct traffic nearby.
Wahlberg said a driver entered the on-ramp and didn't see the car, striking the two men changing the tire. Both suffered injuries to their lower extremities, she said.
The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Wahlberg said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No impairment is suspected at this time, she said.
Correction: This article originally said the accident occurred in Salt Lake City; it happened in Orem.
