Tenors member yanked from upcoming Ontario concerts

TORONTO (AP) — The Tenors member who altered the lyrics to Canada's national anthem prior to the Major League Baseball all-star game will no longer be performing at two concerts in Ontario.

Remigio Pereira made headlines for changing the verse "With glowing hearts we see thee rise, the True North strong and free," to "We're all brothers and sisters, all lives matter to the great," during his performance on July 12 at the game in San Diego, California.

He also held a sign saying "all lives matter" and "united we stand."

Pereira has been replaced by another musician at two Ontario concerts with Toronto artist Pavlo.

FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catherines issued a statement Tuesday saying that due to the anthem-altering incident, he will no longer be performing at the venue.
