LOGAN — Managers at Beaver Mountain announced Wednesday that they were again moving the resort's closing date up because of warm weather. After its latest opening since the late 70's, the resort is now preparing to end its shortest season in decades. "Sorry to say this, but the heat wave has changed our plans like lots of our other friends in the ski industry," Beaver Mountain President Marge Seeholzer said in an email to KSL. "We cannot sustain with the temperatures getting so high. The last day for Beaver Mountain is this Friday, March 27. The heat wave won— this time." Skiers and snowboarders were busy making the best of what's left at the resort Thursday afternoon. "It definitely hasn't been like the biggest season we've ever had, but we're still sliding," snowboarder Jordan Killillay said. "That's something to be grateful for." "Do the conditions suck, or does your attitude suck?" Lucas Eimer, another snowboarder, added. "You can always be happy and grateful with what you’ve got. Sure, it's not as heavy as years past, but you know, where there's snow, you can snowboard." Eimer pointed to a puddle. "And where there is no snow, you can also snowboard," he said. The resort also announced the cancellation of its annual Beaver Bash, which was set for Saturday. This comes after two other events were cancelled last week.
